Effectively, the Irish Open has when again come and gone with no success for me. Firstly a big properly completed to Seamus and Niall Smyth who won the lot! I’ve played a lot of poker over the years with Seamus and he’s a top class player, so good to see 1 of the good guys get an FT.

It is possibly a cliché at this stage but I’d guess that most poker players have the aim or dream of sitting down at the WSOP Main Event at some stage of their poker playing career, pitting their wits against the greatest players in the world and of course coming out the other side of the 13 day event with all the chips, cash and plaudits!

The Five-A-Side competition kicked off with a bang this week! Our team, (or however I need to possibly say John’s team) has almost undoubtedly won the team of the week and I managed to scoop the MVP award.

I had been told that there were 130 qualifiers from the Macau Club in Cork and the majority were playing 1A, so I created my way to Cork on Thursday hoping for a very good table draw.
